Simonstown 1—5 O'Mahony's 2—10.
A whirlwind start by O'Mahonys on Sunday morning in Simonstown saw them 1—1 to 0—0 after three minutes. Simonstown replied with three points from play with Peter Duffy slotting over from far out. Then Jack Melia then split the posts from an acute angle and Ruairi Brady started and finished the best move of game when he slotted over to leave scoreboard reading 0—3 to 1—2 with twenty first half minutes gone. O'Mahony's had a purple patch and hit four points(1f) in six minutes while Duffy converted a free for the hosts to leave O'Mahony's leading 1—6 to 0-4 at the break.
The second half got under way with Jack Melia converting a free. A high ball into O' Mahony's square was well fielded by Peter Duffy who was hauled down and referee Seamus O Connor awarded a penalty. David Kavanagh took the penalty and placed it low to corner of the net. With twelve second half minutes on the clock its Sims 1—5 O Mahs 1—7. A good inter passing move by the Brews Hill lads resulted in goal to put them 2—7 to 1—5 at the mid-point of second half. O'Mahony s added three more points in last quarter.
