Jack O Kane in goal had two fine saves in the space of  three minutes. The Navan men regrouped  and  Ruairi Brady  then split the posts from distance.  Nathan Reilly put Farrelly through on goal with a defence splitting pass and he rattled the net to put Simons into lead 1—4 to 0—6.       The  Simonstown full back line of Conor Staunton,Cian McKeever and Paddy Shiels were giving their opponents little room. The half backline of Charlie O Kane,James Kane  and Cody Chinchilla were vigilant and going forward to help in attack. This enabled Simonstown to take the lead as Nathan Reilly  won possession and under pressure pointed.  Jack Collier after a nice passing move   found  the Jenkinstown net with a low ground shot across the face of goal and just inside of post to  put Simons 2—7 to 0—9 in front with five second half minutes on the clock.  Jenkinstown  with more 19year  players
worked their way back into game with four points (2fs) to be level after thirteen minutes 2—7 to 0—13.  The half forward line of Sean Barry, Aaron Farrelly and Ruairi Brady were working like beavers. Jenkstwn edged ahead but Nathan Reilly notched his second of the day 2—8 to 0—14. A free put Jenkinstown in front but Aaron Farrelly with a free made it 2—9 to 0—15 with nine to play. Nathan Reilly put Simonstown one up but a high ball into  Simonstown square was deflected to the net and Jenks led 1—15 to 2—10 with five to go. The full forward line of Cian Newman Nathan Reilly and Jack Collier worked hard and were rewarded when fouls were drawn and Aaron Farrelly slotted over two frees to level match.
