Simonstown 6--7  O Mahonys   0--9.

 Simonstown captured their  first championship points  with an easier than expected win over neighbours O Mahonys  The game was played in glorious summer sunshine in Simonstown on Sunday morning.

Mark Farrell got the hosts on the score board with a point in first minute. O Mahonys replied with two (1f) and were 0—2 to 0—1 in front by the sixth minute. Paddy Heaney  slotted over and then Peter Duffy steered a low ground shot to visitors net. Tadgh Hanrahan weaved his  way through the O Mahs defence and hit a absolute  rocket to roof of the net. Tadgh and Peter Duffy added points  to leave Simonstown leading at the break 2—5 to 0—4

Ronan Duffy brought off a great save just on stroke of half time.

  O Mahonys pointed at start of second half.  Tadgh Hanrahan floated ball into O Mahonys goal mouth area  where Peter Duffy rose highest and palmed to net .( Crouchy like...remember him). Hanrahan pointed and Mark Farrell finished to the visitors net after good  inter passing  among the forwards  to put Simons 4—6 to 0—5 up 10 minutes into second half.  Hanrahan got on the  end of good forward move to sore his second goal. Hanrahan then floated high ball into goal mouth area and Duffy    

  maintains he got a  slight touch and it ended in the O Mahonys net. After lengthy viewing  nither Hawk-Eye nor Var could definetly confirm exactly. It was now 6—6 to 0—6 with twenty second half minutes on clock. O Mahonys never gave up and slotted over three points while Mark Farrell completed   Simonstowns tally with a close in free. Final score Simons 6—7 O Mahonys 0—9.
