Simonstown encountered Div 3A League leaders on home turf Thursday evening that produced a competitive game with championship flavour and claimed the league points on offer. Peter Duffy landed a monster from 50 metres in the 3rd minute but Moylagh equalised shortly afterwards. David McKeever and a Shane McEnery had points to put Simons in front 0—3 to 0—1 after 14 minutes. Moylagh began to dominate and transferred their superiority on to the scoreboard notching four points ( 2 play ,a free and a mark) to lead 0—3 to 0—5 with 24mins gone. The Navan men regained the iniative and finished out the half in style with David McKeever, Ruairi Brady, Kyle McEvoy and Shane McEnery all scoring from play to leave Simons leading at the break by 0—7 to 0—5.
Simonstown continued in the second half where they left off at end of first half with points from Mark Farrell, Shane McEnery and sub-Luke Caffrey 2(1f) to lead 0—11 to 0—6 with 21 second half minutes on the clock.
Moylagh did not go down without a fight and threw everything into attack adding 2 points while the home defence was solid and effective.
