Simonstown.............2-16
St Patrick's...............1-7
Simonstown's second team recovered from defeat to Navan O'Mahony's in the previous round to record a commanding Premier Division Two win over St Patrick's in Stamullen on Friday night.
Mark McCabe orchestrated the win, scoring 2-5 of which 2-4 was from play.
The sides were level, 0-3 each, at the first water break but Simonstown stepped it up after that and by the interval they were 1-10 to 0-5 clear as McCabe grabbed his first goal.
That second quarter surge was crucial and allowed Simonstown to manage the game comfortably from there.
St Pat's did hit back to outscore the winners by 1-2 to 0-1 in the third quarter but Simonstown picked up again and with a second McCabe goal registered an unanswered 1-5.
There were strong performances from Edward Nash and Fionn O Hanluain, who scored two points, in defence and Shane McEnery and Eoghan Gough up front.
The win puts Simonstown in fourth place in the group, behind Summerhill, O'Mahony's and Ratoath.
