Simonstown's second adult team will be in action for the first time on Saturday evening, 6.30pm, in Simonstown when they play in the first round of Premier Division Two. It's an eight-team competition that will involve many of the senior squad who have not been 'listed' as first team players for championship only. Among those expected to feature are two veterans of the breakthrough Keegan Cup win in 2016, Mark McCabe and Joe Lyons (both pictured) but many of the players emerging from the recent minor and U-16s will also be involved. Brian McEnery, Hank Traynor and Jim Lane will be among those assisting with the preparation of the team over the coming months. Charlie McNulty will be in charge of the third team which begins its campaign the following day, Sunday, against St Paul's (6.30pm) at their home venue.
Also in action on Saturday are the U-15s in Division One action at home to Ratoath, featuring many of the players who helped with last year's U-13 Division One success. The 'second' U-15 team are away to Dunsany.
Later in the week, Tuesday, the minors have their third Division 2 MFL game, away to Killary Emmets in Castletown (7.30).
