Simonstown welcomed Na Fianna, Dunderry & Summerhill to the club for the Feile Peile na nOg qualifying group yesterday afternoon.
Simonstown faced off against Na Fianna in their first game & played some really good football despite the slippy conditions after the heavy rain that fell just prior to throw in coming out winners by 2-4 to 0-1.
Next up was Dunderry who had lost their first game to Summerhill. This was a very evenly contested match but Simonstown finished strong & with the help of 3 goals won by 3-3 to 1-4.
The last group game was against Summerhill with both teams having already qualified for the semi finals next weekend but neither team held back & Simonstown narrowly came out on top in what was a very tight match on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-7.
Well done to all the teams who participated in the group & especially to our own U15 players who did the club & themselves proud yesterday stepping up a division & winning their 3 matches to qualify top of the group. Simonstown will now play Skyrne next weekend in the semi final (details to be confirmed).
Photos of the 3 games will be on fb today
