Simonstown 1—11   Summerhill  2—8.

     ​ The Hill brought summer weather to North Navan on Thursday night as both teams settled  for  a draw in a very entertaining game played in ideal conditions for good football.  With Charlie McNulty and Brian Neary dominating at midfield resulting in two pointed frees,  one each for Ruairi Brady and Seamus Kenny. David Kavanagh tapped over two from play as Simons led 0—4 to 0—1 at end of first quarter. A rare Summer hill attack at this stage led a shot deflecting off a defender ​ to the net. The Hill followed with point  from play to  lead  for first time 1—2 to 0—4 after twenty minutes. Ruairi Brady levelled with a free and Rory O Connor clipped over to put hosts back in front 0—6 to 1—2. Anthony Mc Donagh fielded a high ball  in the square and  laid it off to Seamus Kenny who palmed to  the net from close in. Kenny gained possession from the kick out and fisted over to put  Simons 1—7 to 1—3 in front at the break.

        Early second half points from play by Ruairi Brady ,David Kavanagh and Seamus Kenny put the Sky blues 1—10 to 1—6 up half way through the second half.​  As Simons  were committed to attack, Summerhill had a breakaway and goaled with ten minutes left. Simonstown defence withstood great pressure with Darragh Dooner,Cody Chinchilla,Cillain Farrell,Sean Heavey. blocking several scoring attempts.  The Hill  added two points from play and took the lead 2—8 to 1—10 with twenty eight minutes gone.   Sean Heavey from centre back surged forward and landed a monster point from forty five metres to tie the scores. Seamus Kenny 1—3...what a player..
