Simonstown wing back David McKeever raced through the heart of Na Fianna defence and blasted to the net after three minutes to give the hosts a dream start to this 2Rd Feis Cup match in Simonstown on Thursday night. Points from Brian McGrath, Ben Hoey, Shane Barry and a Padraig McKeever free put Simons 1—4 to 0—2 with 13 minutes on the clock. Na Fianna had a period of dominance and added two points to make 1—4 to 0—4 after twenty three minutes. The sky blues upped the intensity and Luke Caffrey set up Padraig McKeever to find the net with low ground shot. Luke Caffrey then tapped over and Brian McGrath split the posts to leave Simons leading at half time by 2—6 to 0—4.
Padraig McKeever scored all Simonstown's second half points---four in total. Sub Ruairi Brady cleverly got in behind Na Fianna defence and Josh Carolan delivered a sublime kicked pass for Ruari to finish to with style to the net and complete the Navan men's tally. Na Fianna staged a late rally and scored 1—1 as Simons ran out winners 3—10 to 1—7.
